Q: How do I clean my
ceramic tile?
A: Use clear warm water or a neutral cleaner
specific to ceramic tile. We recommend Stone Care
International® ceramic tile cleaner.
Q: Why does grout cracking
occur and how do I fix the problem?
A: Grout cracking along floor lines, corners
and bathtubs are natural and occur due to settlement of your
homes foundation. Acrylic or latex caulking can be purchased
in both sanded and un-sanded format to match most grout
colors. Because caulking stretches, cracking is less likely to
occur.
Q: Should I seal my grout
and what should I use?
A: Before sealing your grout, allow new
installations 10-14 days to completely cure. Just prior to
sealing your grout be sure to clean it well, or all dirt will
be sealed in. When the grout lines dry, apply a penetrating
grout sealer, taking measures to ensure that only a minimal
amount of sealer gets on the face of the tile.
Q:
How should I clean my
marble bathroom?
A: Only use cleaners made
specifically for
stone. Both daily, weekly cleaning and polishing kits are
available.. Never use abrasive cleaners.
Q: Can a knife scratch my
granite?
A: Granite, many times, is used for cutting
blocks and is heat resistant as well.
Q: When do I reseal my
stone?
A: Do not ever reseal your stone, it is
unnecessary. Daily maintenance cleaners that are specific to
stone products contain a sealer. Thus using these products,
you will continue to seal any pores in the stone that may
become exposed.Every stone delivered is sealed during
fabrication.
Q: When should I re-polish
my stone?
A: Most granites should be re-polished with
liquid polish specifically designed for stone every six to 12
months.
Q: What is the protocol for
daily cleaning?
A: Spray cleaners are now available most
places for granite and marble countertops. Use cleaners that
are specific for stone and use once a day only. For general
cleaning, mild soap and water is sufficient.
